Fremont video-game developer wins ‘animation’s highest honor’ | Arts & Culture
Title (Max 100 Charaters)
Beating out better-known video games like “Gears of War 3” and “Uncharted 3,” Xbox Live Arcade game “Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet” by Fremont-based Fuelcell Games took home the trophy for Best Video Game at the 39th Annual Annie Awards Feb. 4 in Los Angeles.
The Annie Awards, which call themselves animation’s highest honor, award excellence in the field of animation across mediums – TV, film, video games and more. Other winners from this year’s awards include “The Simpsons”* and “Rango.”
Video-game developer Fuelcell Games is located at 920 N. 34th St. It released “Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet” in August.
The 39th Annual Annie Awards were hosted by comedian and one-time animated rat Patton Oswalt, who said of the awards: “The Annies are where the real weirdos hang out, and it’s a visual fest just to have a drink with them.”
*Beating out “Archer,” which is, frankly, ridiculous.
